RGV's Phoonk

Ram Gopal Varma is a maverick film-maker. His psycho-horror thrillers stand testimony to his unorthodox approach to making films belonging to this genre.

Here's the video of his latest psycho-horror thriller, Phoonk.

So Gaya Yeh Jahan - Tezaab

Tezaab starred Anil Kapoor & Madhuri Dixit. The film catapulted the then little known Madhuri into the big league.

Tezaab, which had loads of racy numbers, featured a slow number also. Here's the video.

Pehli Nazar Mein - Race

I rarely watch films. Race belongs to that category. The film features a great number - Pehli Nazar Mein. I simply love the way the song is rendered.

Joke: The Aging Explorer

A young reporter went to a retirement home to interview an aged but legendary explorer. The reporter asked the old man to tell him the most frightening experience he had ever had.

The old explorer said, "Once I was hunting Bengal tigers in the jungles of India. I was on a narrow path and my faithful native gun bearer was behind me. Suddenly the largest tiger I have ever seen leaped onto the path in front of us. I turned to get my weapon only to find the native had fled. The tiger lept toward me with a mighty ROARRRR! I soiled myself."

The reporter said, "Under those circumstances anyone would have done the same."

The old explorer said, "No, not then -- just now when I went ''''ROARRRR!''''"

And they said there will be flood!!

Comedy Central is a great site for spoofs and humorous takes on stupid people and their stupid actions.

Here's a video on the flood situation in Iowa, USA. The host is Jon Stewart.

Ek Haseen Nigha Ka

Maya Memsaab, though not a great watch, has some great numbers. Here's one:

Intezaar from Paap

Paap, watching it was a sin, starred John Abraham and Udita Goswami (Udita, who?). A couple of numbers, esp. Intezaar and Mann Ki Lagan make for interesting listening.

Here's the Intezaar video.

Aye Dil-e-Nadan

Razia Sultana starred Hema Malini as the first and the only Muslim woman ruler to sit on the Delhi throne. FYI, Razia was the daughter of Iltutmish, a manumit, who succeeded Qutub-ud-din, the founder of the Delhi Sultanate (1206-1526).

Aye dil-e-Nadan, the song featured here, is one of my most fav numbers.

Tum Hi Mere Mandir

The film Khandaan starred the suave Sunil Dutt and beautiful Nutan. The film, a social, features a great song, "Tum Hi Mere Mandir".

Here's the video song.
